What we teach Refresher Tutorials
Refreshers, or as we call them, Private Tutorials, are designed to assist you as a professional and/or inactive professional with the opportunity to learn the specific job skills of your interest. The tutorial uses a one student to one teacher format, which makes it possible to teach/learn a lot very quickly. Tutorials are only for professionals and you must be able to provide documentation that you are currently licensed to practice or are preparing to take the State Exam.
Tutorials are three-hour sessions and are arranged by appointment to accommodate your schedule. The school will discuss with you the job skill(s) of your interest and times you are available. Arrangements are then made with an instructor capable of teaching those job skills within the confines of your scheduling requirements. The tutorials can be planned as single sessions or in a series depending on the amount or degree of job skills you desire.
Though you can request training on any job skill, the most popular tutorials focus on advance nail subjects, hair cutting, advanced esthetics, electrolysis, cosmetic application and Pennsylvania state exam preparations. Though it is not critical the school prefers you to visit the school to discuss the job skills. If you graduated from another school or are a Non-GIGS graduate of this school, you may use a tutorial as a private session for instruction on how to prepare for and pack your kit for Pennsylvania's State Board Exams.
To our knowledge refresher/tutorials are only offered at this school. Tutorials are offered as a service to you as a professional and the school's objective is not high profit but to recover the approx costs involved with offering the service. Tutorials cost $275.00 per session (approx 3 hours) which includes a $50.00 (non-refundable) scheduling fee. The scheduling fee must be paid in advance to have the tutorial scheduled. Materials or supply expenses vary with each job skill and with what you currently own. We will discuss materials when you arrange the tutorial. Though the school only arranges tutorials in 3 hours sessions the one exception is a reduced rate, $225.00 for tutorials specifically and only on packing for the Pennsylvania manicuring and cosmetician exams (1 to 2 hours).
Additionally, on site classes are available in salons or for groups. The uniqueness of the on site classes emanates from the generic nature of the experience and are not product or sales oriented.
